Etheleen C. Smith

Etheleen C. Smith of Gulfport went to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, March 6, 2014 at the age of 86. She was a long-time resident of Gulfport and made First Baptist Church of Gulfport her church home where she was active in many activities including choir and Sunday School. Mrs. Smith retired from the Harrison County Courthouse where she served many years in the Tax Assessors Office. She truly loved her Lord, her church, friends and her family who will miss her dearly. All who knew her agreed that she was a dear lady with a precious smile and a loving spirit. She is preceded in death by her parents , her sister, Mildred Horne, her son, Ronald and numerous other family and friends. She is survived by her brother, Jeril Robert Clenney and his wife, Janice, of Florida. Also, by two daughters; Mary Ellen Hunt (Ron) of Long Beach and Catherine Brown of Pearl, MS. She also leaves to cherish her memory her four grandchildren; Jill Mason Convenuto, Baton Rouge, La, David Smith, Easley, S.C., Anastasia Dickens, Biloxi, MS and Jennifer Brown, Pearl, MS and five great grandchildren, and daughter in law, Violet Smith. The visitation will be Monday, March 10, 2014 beginning at 10:00 A.M. at First Baptist Church, Gulfport. The funeral service will begin at 11:00 A.M. Interment will be Gulf Pines Memorial Gardens in Long Beach. Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home, 15th St. Gulfport, is in charge of arrangements.
