Eugenia Teresa Ryan

Mrs. Eugenia Teresa Ryan Ward, age 91, a lifelong resident of Ocean Springs, passed away on Friday, January 11, 2013, in Ocean Springs. Eugenia's love for her husband, children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchild was uppermost in her life. She was a devout Catholic and homemaker as evidenced by her excelling in both throughout her life. Everyone who knew Eugenia was touched by the life she lead and her love for others. A true angel has ascended into Heaven. Eugenia was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Olivia Ryan, her husband of 59 years, Marzine T. Ward, and her beloved daughter, Elizabeth McMurtray. Survivors included six children: James (Cheryl) Ward of Waveland, MS, Marlene (Joe) Chism of Ocean Springs, MS, Arnie (Kitty) Ward of Ocean Springs, MS, Margie (Larry) Scott of Tallahassee, FL, David Ward and Rick Ward, both of Ocean Springs, MS, fifteen grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. Visitation will be on Tuesday, January 15, 2013, from 9 am until 11 am, with an 11 am chapel service, all at the Ocean Springs Chapel of Bradford O'Keefe Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Biloxi National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made in her name to the Alzheimer Association of your choice.
