Eunice Lucille Boone Tootle

Eunice Lucille Boone Tootle, age 95, passed away on Saturday, February 15, 2014. Eunice was born in 1918, in Purvis, Mississippi, to Alonzo Henry Boone and Jeanette (Nettie) Chambliss Boone, the 10th of 12 children, all who have preceded her in death. Eunice enjoyed an unusually rich and happy marriage of 53 years with the love of her life, George Anders Tootle, Jr. (Vancleave, MS) before his passing in 1994. The family is comforted knowing that they are now together for eternity with their Lord. She is survived by their three children, David, Dianne, Stephen; six grandchildren, Laura and Samuel, Galen and Nathan, Melissa and Rachel; two sisters-in-law, Cleo Taylor and Claire McBride; a brother-in-law, Harvey Tootle, and numerous nieces and nephews. Eunice graduated from Houghstetler Business College and later supported her husband in his businesses as his bookkeeper. She was quite active in the Gulfport community since 1950 in various civic organizations as well as the First Baptist Church of Gulfport. Not only will Eunice be remembered for her passions of gardening, travel, family and friends, but also as an exemplary Christian Southern Lady who possessed an amazingly positive zest for life and a determination in her many accomplishments. Family and friends are invited to a celebration of life service on Thursday, February 20, 2014 at 1:30 p.m. at Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home, 15th Street, Gulfport with visitation beginning at 12:30 p.m. Interment will follow at Floral Hills Memorial Gardens, Gulfport.
