Evelyn Carol Larkee Ashley

Evelyn Carol Larkee Ashley, age 89, beloved mother and grandmother, passed away Thursday, November 27, 2014, after a brief illness. Evelyn was born May 2, 1925 in Marshfield, Wisconsin to Marvin and Margaret Larkee. She lived in Waupaca, Wisconsin with her eight brothers and sisters until graduating from high school. She then moved to Mississippi, where she met her husband. She is preceded in death by her husband, Herman Ashley; her parents, Marvin and Margaret Larkee; four brothers, Kenneth, Edward, Robert and Paul Larkee; and sister, Lois Switzer. Survivors include her children Patricia (Russell III) Mizell, Sandra (Michael, deceased) Meaut and Robert (Diane) Ashley. She is survived by six grandchildren, Russell (Kim) Mizell IV, Ryan Mizell, Marc Meaut, Laura Meaut, Brett (Kayla) Ashley and Scott Ashley; and three great-grandchildren, D’Angelo Meaut and Jackson and Ella Mizell. She is also survived by her sister Janet (Gary) Pope; brothers, Charles (Nyma) and Alan (Barb) Larkee; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Graveside services will be held at Roseland Cemetery in Hattiesburg at 2:00pm on Tuesday, December 2, 2014. The Howard Avenue Chapel of Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
