Francis Verlin Ramsay, 73, of Ocean Springs, died Sunday, October 07, 2012.
Mr. Ramsay was born on September 22, 1939 in St. Martin to Elvin and Vera Ramsay. He attended and graduated from St. Martin High School where he played basketball and baseball. He was also named Mr. St. Martin 1957. He was a member of the Mississippi Army National Guard, the American Quarter Horse Association, and the Louisiana Quarter Horse Breeders Association. He was also active in the McLeod Masonic Lodge and the Blueberry Hill Hunting Club. Mr. Ramsay retired as a union pipe welder from Local #568.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Elvin and Vera Ramsay; father-in-law, Cecil Clifton; mother-in-law Cora Clifton, and two infant daughters.
Survivors include his wife, Janice Clifton Ramsay, daughter ,Karen (Dan) Henson; son, Scott (Susan) Ramsay; brother, Byron (Maxine) Ramsay; grandchildren: Joshua (Kristy) Henson, Clint (Lauren) Henson; Matthew Ramsay, and Sarah Ramsay; three great grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, October 9, 2012 at the Ocean Springs Chapel of Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home where friends may visit one hour prior to the service time. Interment will follow in Ramsay Cemetery on Bethel Hill Church Road.
