Frank Rudolph "Rudy" Ibele

Rudy went to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday, November 22, 2015, surrounded by the family he loved so dearly. Rudy was born in Biloxi on August 29, 1937 and was raised in D’Iberville. He graduated in 1957 from Norte Dame High School. After graduating, he joined the Army Reserves where he served for 8 years. He also joined the Plumbers and Steamfitters local union #568, where he worked until retirement. Rudy loved to spend time outdoors hunting and fishing with his family and friends, spending time with family, and rooting on the Atlanta Braves. Rudy also liked to spend his time on his favorite stool in Boomtown Casino. He lived in Saucier where he raised gamebirds. He was well-known for his gamebirds that he now has a breed named after him, the “Ibele Greys.” Rudy was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Judy Acevedo Ibele; and his parents, Frank J. Ibele and Mae Santa Cruz Ibele. He is survived by his brother, Carroll F. Ibele (Brenda) and sister, Brenda Ibele Broussard (Nick) all of D’Iberville; daughters, Collette Derouen (Rodney) of Ocean Springs and Yvette Cvitanovich of Atlanta, GA; sons, Barry and Brian Raanes; grandchildren, Rodney Derouen III, Chantel Eleuterius, Nick Cvitanovich and Nathan Cvitanovich of D’Iberville; and great grandchildren, Kenzlee Cvitanovich. He is also survived by his nephews, Norbert Broussard (Rhonda), Michael Broussard (Hope), Frank Broussard (Tammy), Glenn Ibele, and Charlie Ibele (Jennifer); niece, Laurie Ibele Shivers (Stephen) of Lafayette, LA; great nieces and great nephews, Jerika Broussard, Brice Broussard, Beau Broussard, Annie Broussard, Caley Ibele, Tayler Ibele and Erica Ibele, Lia Shivers, Luke Shivers and Gray Shivers. Rudy was a lifelong member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in D’Iberville where services will be held on Wednesday, November 25, 2015. Friends may visit from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Swetman Cemetery in D’Iberville. A Celebration of Life will be held at the Town Green in D’Iberville after the burial. Pallbearers will be: Norbert Broussard, Norbert Broussard, Jr., Michael Broussard, Frank Broussard, Glen Ibele and Charlie Ibele. The family request in lieu of flowers that donations be made to St. Vincent de Paul Society of Sacred Heart Catholic Church or a charity of your choice. The family would also like to thank Carol Redmond for the excellent care she gave Rudy, and Saad’s Hospice, especially Melanie Parks Downs and Sharon Lacey. The Howard Avenue Chapel of Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
