Gay Lorne Young

Gay Lorne Young, age 53, died Friday, October 18, 2013. A native and lifelong resident of Ocean Springs, MS, he was a member of St. Alphonsus Catholic Church. Gay graduated from Ocean Springs High School and the University of Southern Mississippi. He was very involved in local and city affairs. Gay enjoyed fishing with his friend. Gay always helped others. He was preceded in death by his parents Glenn and Eleanor Young, Sr.; and brother, George Young. He is survived by his fiancé, Valerie Wilson; sister, Gayle Orfield; brothers, Glenn (Terrie Lee) Young, II, Gene (Modenna) Young, and Gary (Pam) Young; aunt and godmother, Lucille “Lou” Young; cousin, Charles Young; caregiver, Linda Gibb; feline companion, Buddy; his fiancé parents, Robert and Ruth Wilson; and many nieces and nephews. The family prefers donations to the St. Vincent De Paul Community Pharmacy, PO Box 1228, Biloxi, MS 39533, or the American Cancer Society, 417 Security Square, Gulfport, MS 39507. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday, October 22, 2013 at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church where friends may visit one hour prior to service.
