Gene Deason

Gene passed away peacefully and went to his heavenly home with his loving family and friends by his side on February 28, 2017. He was born on August 26, 1947 in Biloxi, MS to his parents, Roy and Adele Deason. He attended and graduated from St. Martin High School in 1965. He went to college at Northeast Louisiana University where he earned his pharmacy degree. He also was a certified financial advisor. During his years as a pharmacist, he worked all over the Gulf Coast, with the majority of his years serving as Pharmacy Manager of Wal-Mart Pharmacy in Pascagoula. Anyone that ever met or knew Gene instantly fell in love with him. His hilarious personality was loving and contagious. He never met a stranger and loved making people smile and laugh. He always just wanted to make people happy and have a great time. Gene was thoughtful and caring, and would always put other people's needs before his. He was often told by many that he should have been a comedian. His favorite past time was hunting. He would always look forward to November when he could go to the camp and hunt with his deer dogs. He loved all of his friends he hunted with, and enjoyed his time with them immensely. He also enjoyed fishing and going camping. Gene enjoyed life to the fullest. He loved being with his family and making as many memories as one possibly could. He especially loved his two grandsons, Cameron and Logan, whom he always called his little whipper snappers. He is preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Adele (Taylor) Deason; his sister, Glenda Read; and his father and mother-in-law, H.W. and Audrey (Rhodes) Deloney. He is survived by his devoted and loving wife of 40 years, Kay; his son, Bryan; his daughter, Kristin; his two grandsons, Cameron and Logan Jones;his extended son, Brad Jones; his sister, Sue (Chic) Cody; his brother-in-law, Anthony (Cynthia) Deloney; his nieces, Pam (Lance) Middleton, Kay Cody, Dawn (Jerry) Kimble, and Lynn (Clay) Lassiter; his nephews, Scott (Ilyana) Read and Anthony Deloney, Jr.; and 5 great nieces and 7 great nephews.
