George Arthur Booth, age 58, from Biloxi, passed away February 1, 2016 at his home after his two-year struggle with cancer.
George was a native of Biloxi. Many friends from the neighborhood will remember the Hover Craft he and his father built. George’s family were active members of the Biloxi Yacht Club where George was an avid sailor. He attended Darlington Preparatory School where he discovered his love of Cross Country Running in the hills of Georgia. Upon his return to Biloxi, he continued to run at Biloxi High School until he graduated in 1975.
George attended the University of South Louisiana and Mississippi State University where he continued to run until a knee injury side-lined him. While at MS State he was a member of Tau Kappa Epsilon, TKE, and was proud to be called a “Teak”.
George was an active member of his community during the 80’s and 90’s. He served as Treasurer, Coach and Referee for Biloxi Youth Soccer as well as being active in his sons Boy Scout Troup. He was especially proud of a pair of 20’s towers he designed and built for the Troup’s National Jamboree.
He is survived by his parents George Byron and Margaret Carroll Butte Booth and his sister, Ellen Anne Booth Terrell, along with her two children, Brian Christopher and Kristen Margaret Terrell. He is also leaving behind his three children, George William, Lindsey Elisabeth and Laura Ashleigh Booth and their mother, Laura Jaudon Booth and a grandson, George Duvlainn Booth.
