George August Bellais

George August Bellais, 84, a lifelong resident of Biloxi, MS, went to join his Heavenly Father on Sunday, July 1, 2012. Mr. Bellais was preceded in death by his parents, George H. Bellais and Beulah Creel Bellais and grandson, Christopher Mark Ross. He is survived by his loving wife and caregiver of 65 years, Florence Hollier Bellais; his two daughters, Sonya (Gene) Kifer and Georgia Dominick; grandsons, Walter E. Ross, III, John August Dominick, David Joseph Dominick, his great-grandchildren, PFC Mathew George Ross, Sonia Marie Ross and Cade Parish Ross. The couple just recently celebrated their 65th Wedding Anniversary with their family. He was very active in Mardi Gras. He was a charter member of the Krew of Neptune; a member of Les Cavaliers, where he was a duke; Les Perrots; Merrymakers, where he reigned as King and King of the Elks Lodge 606, where he is a lifetime member. Mr. Bellais is a member of the Nativity BVM Cathedral. He was very active for many years in the diocesan Search Team where he served many times on the kitchen team. He was active in the Cursillo Movement and worked on the team. Pall bearers will be Walter Ross, III, August Dominick, David Dominick, Mathew Ross, Cade Ross and Matt Boney. Honorary pall bearers are Michael Delahousey and Stephen Delahousey . The family wishes to thank Amedisys, Odyssey Hospice along with Denise Russell, Dot Woods and Tina Franklin for all the loving care they provided. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Nativity B.V.M. on Thursday, July 5, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. where friends may visit from 9:30 until Mass. The Howard Avenue Chapel of Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
