George R. Shoemaker, 71, lifelong resident of Biloxi, passed away Tuesday, February 24, 2015.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Grant & Bertie Shoemaker; and by his beloved older sister, Betty Shoemaker.
Survivors include his three children, Jill Shoemaker-Hernandez (Paul), of Ocean Springs; Dusti Shoemaker, of Biloxi; David Shoemaker (Gwen), of Woolmarket; four grandchildren, Drew Stratton, Savanna Shoemaker, and Davis & Rhyan Hernandez; a special niece/caregiver, Glenda Jo Lumpkin, of Biloxi; brothers, James Shoemaker (Margie), of Biloxi and Bobby Shoemaker (Shelia), of Pass Christian; sisters, Charlotte Shoemaker Scarborough (Charles), of Pass Christian and Dianne Shoemaker Davis (Billy), of Ocean Springs; several nieces and nephews; recent caregivers, Ed & Paula Armstrong; and a multitude of friends.
In "Roz" style, in lieu of a funeral, the family will be hosting a "Remembrance of Life" celebration at the business of one of his dearest friends, Joey Thompson... JR's Lounge, on Benachi Avenue in Biloxi from 2:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 1, 2015. All are welcome to attend anytime during those hours.
