Georgia S. Mitchell (Mitch) age 98, joined her husband, John C. Mitchell, Sr. and daughter, Sue Mitchell Ray in Heaven on Friday, January 9, 2015.
Georgia graduated from Ocean Springs High School, retired from Keesler, worked at Lovelace Drugs, E.R. Moore, and several other businesses. She loved to help others. She volunteered at St. Vincent de Paul Pharmacy, Ocean Springs Hospital, Ocean Springs YMCA, American Red Cross, and many other community organizations. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Ocean Springs where she was a former Sunday School teacher, pianist and member of Go Getters. She was a member of the Eastern Stars, Past Matrons and Ocean Springs Women’s Club.
Mitch was preceded in death by her parents, Laura Bond Shell and George B, Shell, her husband, John C. Mitchell, Sr., daughter and son-in-law, Mary Sue Mitchell Ray and Rawhide Ray, 5 sisters: Bertha Fraser, Bertice Delokery, Bertia Perkins, Virginia Lowery and Rosemary Haviland.
Survivors include her son, John C. Mitchell, Jr. (Kathy), daughters Laurie Gollott (Gary) and Cindy Peters (Robert), grandchildren; Tammy Harrison (Robbie), Jonathan Toche (Stephanie), Aaron, Myra and John Peters, Clay Mitchell, Wendy Hawkins and Denise Webb (Jeff), great- grandchildren Brittany and Bethany Toche and Emily Mitchell. Sisters-in-law, Myra Kittle, Jackie and Anna Mitchell and brother-in-law Donald Mitchell (Mattie).
She will be sadly missed by all who knew her especially her dearest friends Marion Dunn and Maria Peters. She was truly a Great Christian Southern Lady.

Visitation will be on Thursday, January 15, from 9am until 11am, with an 11am church service , all at First Baptist Church, Ocean Springs
