Gerald Paul Bergeron

Gerald “Jerry” Paul Bergeron was born November 4, 1960 in Biloxi, MS. He passed away Sunday, October 10, 2016 surrounded by his loving family. His laugh, funny sarcasm and quick wit will be missed by all that knew him. Jerry spent many years driving a truck and working in the trucking industry. In his time driving Jerry visited all 48 states, Mexico and Canada. He worked many years as a glass glazier and also enjoyed his time working on oyster and fishing boats. Cooking was his passion and his kitchen was his domain. A true “Cajun” he indulged his love of food by creating dishes every night. He is preceded in death by his mother, Ada Louise Grady; his father, Hoyt Elijah Bergeron; his older brothers, Scott M. Bergeron and Kenneth H. Bergeron and his step-son Joshua Allen Gray. He is survived by his companion/wife of 22 years, Christine Gray; and his beloved cats Vito and Sam. He also leaves behind his best friend and “little sister” Lynn Tomb and a large extended group of family and friends. Jerry graduated from D’Iberville High School in 1978 and attended Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College. Jerry said his life traveling taught him a lot about geography, history and the nature of people. He was an absolute believer in recycling and thought it should be a law for everyone. It was Jerry’s wish to be cremated and his ashes to scattered in the spring. This service will be scheduled for later this spring. A “Celebration of Life Reception” for family and friends will be held Saturday, October 15, 2016 from 1 to 3 at his home at 13195 Reece Bergeron Road, Biloxi, MS. Now and then we had a hope that if we lived and were good, God would permit us to be pirates. - Life on the Mississippi, Mark Twain
