Skip Standley, 61, of Moss Point, MS passed away on Monday, November 24, 2014 in Pascagoula.
He was a resident of Moss Point since 2005.
Skip was a professional "crane doctor." After Hurricane Katrina, he lead the restoration team of the Goliath Crane at Ingalls. He was part of the team that built the Gondola for the World’s Fair in New Orleans in 1984. He was a Boy Scout who achieved Eagle Scout and he was a member of the Order of the Arrow. Skip was past president of the Bonsai Society in Winston-Salem, N.C. and an active member of the Bonsai Society of MS.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Jerry and Eloise Standley of Shepherd, TX; and his brother, Nathan Eugene Standley of Onalaska, TX.
Survivors include his “other half”, Trisha Frost; his 2 daughters, Starr Standley Gallagher and Celeste Suzanne Standley; his sister, Dr. Kim Standley Georgiou; his brother, Jon Standley; his two granddaughters and two grandsons; and multiple nieces and nephews.
Memorial Services will be held at a later date.
