Gertrude Lenora Cannette Demoruelle

Gertrude Cannette Demoruelle, 90, of D’Iberville died Monday, January 28, 2013 in D’Iberville. Mrs. Demoruelle was a longtime resident of D’Iberville and a member of the Catholic Church. Mrs. Demoruelle is preceded in death by her husband, William “Mackie” Demoruelle; her parents, Joseph and Ruth Squires Cannette; her daughter, Barbara Demoruelle; her son, William M. “Billy” Demoruelle; her sisters, Addie Mae Squires, Rita Short and Lily Cannette; and her brother, George Cannette. Survivors include her daughters, Jean Bozeman of Gretna, LA, Betty (Dennis) Strong of Biloxi and Patti (Bobby) Rutland of Bryam, MS; her sons, Kirk Demoruelle of Gretna, LA and Bobby (Susan) Demoruelle of Biloxi, MS; her sister, Annie Ruth Smith of Darby, PA; her grandchildren, Mary Helen McKean, Davy Bozeman, Rebecca Bobzin, Robby Rutland, Natalie Demoruelle, Kyle Strong, Matthew Rutland and Grace Strong; and her great-grandchildren, Preslie Bobzin and Liam McKean. The family wishes to extend a special thanks to her caregiver, Carol Redmond and to her nurse, Joann Lizana. In lieu of flowers, the family prefers donations be made to the St. Vincent de Paul at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church, 2090 Pass Rd., Biloxi, MS 39531. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church on Wednesday, January 30, 2013 at 2:30 p.m. Friends may visit from 1:30 p.m. until mass time.
