Harold Maury Ludlow Jr

Harold Maury Ludlow, Jr. age 90, a longtime resident of Ocean Springs passed last Sunday evening. Harold married Mildred Elaine Puckett in 1947 after being released from serving in the Army Air Corp during WWII. Upon coming home, he finished school and re-enlisted in the USAF and served for the next 24 years. He retired to Ocean Springs in 1968. In 1970 Harold opened his own development and construction company where he worked a second career until 1997. Harold was the father to 5 children, 13 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren. Harold loved his family and formed many life-long friendships here on the Gulf Coast and around the world. He raised his children to be truthful, loyal and strong. A good work ethic was essential. Harold was a long-time member of the First Presbyterian Church of Ocean Springs where he served for many years as a Deacon and Elder. Harold was also a founder and long-time member of the Radio Control Club of the Gulf Coast. Most Saturday and Sunday afternoons were spent flying and teaching others to fly radio control planes. Harold was preceded in death by his wife of 66 years Mildred Puckett Ludlow, by his parents, Harold Maury Ludlow, Sr. and Ethyl Mary Griffin, sister Mary “Buddy” Crisler, and son Lynn Allan Ludlow. Survivors include three daughters, Cynthia (Asa) Pulliam, Lane (David) Rankin and Cheryl (Daniel) Infante; son, Larry (Margaret) Ludlow, 13 grandchildren John (Kristi) Pulliam, Jennifer (Mark) O’Brien, Lisa (Bobby) Archer, Emily (Scott) Lieser, Jeffrey Ludlow, Daniel Ludlow, Meagan (Jason) Smith, Gregory (Erin) Lee, Joey Lee, Brian Lee, Joel (Kerri) Fayard, Ryan Fayard, and Angie (Matt) McGrury. He is also survived by 27 great-grandchildren. Each and every child, grandchild and great-grandchild was one-of-a-kind to him and he dearly loved the babies. Our thanks to the staff of Greenbriar Nursing Center, D’Iberville for the love, care and support he received for the past 4 years. It will never be forgotten, you are all special people. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials to the First Presbyterian Church of Ocean Springs or donations to the Alzheimer’s Association, Visitation will be on Wednesday, July 1, from 10am until 11am, with an 11am church service, all at First Presbyterian Church of Ocean Springs.
