Hattie V. Felsher

Hattie V. Felsher, age 81, of Biloxi MS passed away peacefully on March 11, 2017. She was born in Ripley, MS but at the age of two her family relocated to the Mississippi Gulf Coast residing in the Woolmarket Community. Hattie V. spent her life being a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and follower of Jesus. Her occupation was being a homemaker and she did so with excellence. Her life can best be compared to a Proverbs 31 woman living a life that was not about being perfect but living a life of service that honored God. She was a woman of faith. She was a member of Woolmarket Baptist Church where she faithfully served in many ministries. Her passion and favorite area of service was caring for the babies in the nursery. She was a loving and supportive wife to her husband, Leroy Felsher, for forty-seven years. He was her high school sweetheart and the love of her life. She was a devoted mother to her children, Chesten and Sherry, caring and loving them with unselfish, unconditional love. To her grandchildren she was Nana and she loved and spoiled them. She provided a well-kept home that was warm and welcoming to everyone who entered. She had a beautiful smile, an infectious laugh, a heart of hospitality and a sweet fun-loving spirit that will be greatly missed. Hattie V. was preceded in death by her husband, Leroy Felsher; her mother and father, Lou Ella and Raymond Boyette; her brother, Ray Boyette; and an infant sister, Patricia Boyette. Survivors include two children, Chesten (Mary) Felsher of Cheneyville, LA and Sherry (Keith) Stockstill of Biloxi, MS; and four grandchildren; Olivia Felsher, Elliott Felsher, Conrad (Mallory) Stockstill, and Caleb Stockstill. Our family would like to thank all of the doctors and nurses at Memorial in Gulfport who provided care for Mom. We are especially thankful and grateful to the staff on the second floor ICU unit, particularly Heather and Lacy. The compassion, gentleness, kindness, patience and wisdom you showered on mom and us during her brief stay will never be forgotten. We will forever be grateful. Visitation will be held at Woolmarket Baptist Church on Wednesday, March 15, 2017, from 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. with service following at 1:00 p.m. Interment will follow at Coalville Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family request memorial contributions be made to Woolmarket Baptist Church for their children and youth ministry camp fund. Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home at 675 Howard Ave. in Biloxi is in charge of arrangements and serving the family.
