Hazel Glass Wallace

Heaven gained another beautiful angel with the passing of Hazel Glass Wallace on April 11, 2012. Hazel was a 1936 graduate of Biloxi High School where she was a varsity cheerleader and a member of the 1936 BHS Girls Championship Basketball Team. She was also a beautiful ballerina who loved to dance. Hazel married her high school sweetheart and celebrated 63 years of marriage. She was a member of the Young Matrons Carnival Organization and was involved in the Golden Age Club and the Harrison County Senior Citizens Program. Hazel was also very active with her church family at St. Mary’s Catholic Church. All who knew her loved her. She will live on in the many hearts she touched and her memory will be honored and cherished by all who loved her. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 63 years, James E. Wallace, Sr.; her parents, Thomas H. Glass, Sr., Albertine Caillavet Boehm and Al Boehm; her brother, Thomas H. Glass, Jr.; her son, James E. Wallace, Jr.; her granddaughter, Terri Lynn Wallace; and her grandson, Randall K. Wallace. Survivors include three daughters and one son, Myrna Meaut (Elbert), Ruth Williams (Tommy), Mary Tremmel (Jerry) and Tommy Wallace, Sr. (Debbie) and daughter-in-law, Linda Wallace; fourteen grandchildren; twenty-seven great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be Friday, April 13, 2012 from 6:00 pm until 9:00 pm with an 8:00 pm Rosary at the Howard Avenue Chapel of Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 am on Saturday, April 14, 2012 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church. Interment will follow in the Biloxi City Cemetery.
