Helen Louise Godwin Rushing

Mrs. Helen Louise Godwin Rushing, age 81, of Woolmarket, passed away Sunday, June 08, 2014. Mrs. Rushing was born in Alabama and was a resident of the Gulf Coast over 57 years. She was a member of Cedar Lake United Methodist Church and Cedar Lake United Methodist Ladies Fellowship. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She adored her family and always found ways to make them laugh and feel special. Mrs. Rushing was preceded in death by her parents, Bascom Godwin and Losia Williams Godwin; brother, Monroe Godwin; son-in-law, Ronnie Goff; and mother-in-law, Ina Rushing. Survivors include her loving husband of 61 years, James C. Rushing; daughters, Connie Goff, Linda (Austin) Cooper and Patricia (Levis) Moore; son Kenneth (Ann) Rushing; sister, Joyce Cauley; grandchildren, Bridget (Randy) Logan, Britney Rosenzweig, Brooke (Eric) Sanchez, Bethany Rushing, Chelsea (Ryan) Porter, Haley Rushing, Jessica (Joe) Wicker, Selena Cooper, Ryan Moore and Emily Moore; and six great grandchildren. The family would like to give a special thanks to the staff at Lemoyne Place Assisted Living and the 2nd floor medical staff at Ocean Springs Hospital. In lieu of flowers the family prefers memorials to be made to Cedar Lake United Methodist Church Building Fund, 12332 Cedar Lake Rd., Biloxi, MS 39532. 228-392-9585 Services will be held Thursday, June 12, 2014 at Cedar Lake United Methodist Church at 11am. Friends may visit from 9am-11am. Interment will follow at Coalville Cemetery in Woolmarket. The Howard Avenue Chapel of Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
