Henry L. "Hank" Cook, 83, of Sikeston died August 12, 2012 at the Missouri Veterans Home in Cape Girardeau.
Hank was born May 28, 1929 in Peoria, Illinois to the late Karl and Rosa Miller Kreiter. He was preceded in death by the loving parents who raised him, Alva and Mildred Shook Cook; one daughter, Virginia Cook; four sisters, Lena, Alma, Dorothy and Caroline; and four brothers, Charles, Rupert, William and Frank.
He retired from the United States Air Force as a radar technician after 22 years of service and he also retired from Anaconda Aluminum and Noranda Aluminum. Hank worked at the Sikeston Power Plant as well. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Peoria, Illinois and the Shriners in Missoula, Montana.
Hank was married for 51 years to Betty Gaedchens of Biloxi, Mississippi who survives of the home. They married December 23, 1960 in Biloxi, Mississippi.
Other survivors include two daughters, Karen Ragsdell of Sikeston, Catherine Cook of Ohio; one son, Alva Cook; two grandchildren, Michael Ragsdell of Sikeston, Megan Ragsdell-Sloat of Sikeston, one great grandson, Robert Ragsdell-Sloat of Sikeston, one brother, Clarence Kreiter of Peoria, Il; four sisters, Helen Carlson of Peoria, Il, Clara Reiger of East Peoria, Il, Frances Gunnels of Shawnee Mission, Ks, Joy Anderson of Downington, Pa; many nieces and nephews and one favorite niece, Susan Seymour of Biloxi.
Visitation will be held at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel Wednesday August 15, 2012 at 5pm until the service time at 7pm. Reverend Brian Jenkerson from the First Church of The Nazarene in Sikeston will officiate.
A graveside service will take place at Wilson Family Cemetery in Larue, Mississippi on Saturday August 18, 2012 at 2pm with Reverend Robert E. Wall officiating.
