Herbert Eugene "Herb" Dye

Herbert Eugene "Herb" Dye, 86, of Kiln, MS passed away Friday, April 21, 2017 in Gulfport, surrounded by his family. Herb was born in Vardaman, MS on June 8, 1930 to the late Lee Burnel Dye and Edna Hazel Williams Dye. He enjoyed fishing in his pond, working on his property and get togethers with family and friends. Herb was a United States Air Force veteran and retired after working many years in the oilfield industry. He was preceded in death by his former wife, Sadie Ruth Shamsie Dye; his sisters, Reggie Nell Pitre and Dolores Vaughn. Herb’s survivors include his wife of 46 years, Rita Dye; his children, Tammy Dye (Greg) Webb, Carolyn Babin (Bob) Viator, Herbert “Herbie” Eugene (Renee) Dye, Jr. and James “Jimmy” (Karen) Babin; his grandchildren, Chantelle Viator, John Battaglia, Kacie Webb, Kristin Dye, Alyssa Viator and Kellie Webb; his great-grandchildren, Cameron Durbin, Carmen Durbin and Dustin Seawright; and his sister, Sarah (Allan) Anthony. Funeral Services will be held at the Pass Road Chapel of Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home, 2511 Pass Road, Biloxi, MS, on Tuesday, April 25, 2017 at 11:30 am. Friends may visit from 10:00 am until service time. Interment will follow at Biloxi National Cemetery.
