Hurley Mathieu

Mr. Hurley Mathieu, age 88, of Ocean Springs, MS, died Tuesday, October 31, 2012, in Ocean Springs. Mr. Mathieu was a lifelong resident of Ocean Springs, worked at Ingalls Shipbuilding for 30 years and retired from there. He was a WWII veteran in the U.S. Navy and held medals of valor for his service. He was of the Baptist faith. He was preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, Edna Gullette Mathieu, his parents, Alphonse Mathieu and Clara Parker Mathieu, two brothers, a grandson, Mathieu Starrett and two stepchildren. Survivors include two daughters, Charlotte Starrett and Gaynell Wright, two brothers, a sister, four grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Visitation will be on Tuesday, November 6, 2012, from 1 pm until 2 pm, with a 2 pm chapel service, all at the Ocean Springs Chapel of Bradford O'Keefe Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery.
