Jack Dean Mullenger

Mr. Jack Dean Mullenger, age 76, son of Robert T. and Ruth Mullenger passed away on Monday, March 24, 2014, in Ocean Springs, MS. He was born September 27, 1937 in Hamlin, IA. Jack graduated from Audubon High School in 1956. He joined the Army National Guard in Audubon, IA, then enlisted in the United States Air Force and had various assignments within the United States and overseas. In 1960, he met and married Marietta E. Marquez while stationed in the Panama Canal Zone and in 1966 spent the year in Vietnam. Jack retired in May 1982 as a Master Sergeant after 26 years of Air Force service. He then worked at the Veterans Administration in Biloxi, MS for a short time before spending 18 years with the Naval Oceanographic Office at Stennis Space Center in MS. He worked for another 6 years at several casinos in Biloxi, MS. In his retirement, Jack enjoyed buying and selling vintage DVDs. Preceding him in death were his parents and his brothers, Robert W. and James H. Mullenger. Mourning his passing are his wife, Marietta of Ocean Springs, MS; his son, Robert L., daughter-in-law, Rhonda L. Radcliff and a granddaughter, Stella Maria of Mountain View, CA; his sister, Pat Mullenger of Audubon, IA; his sisters-in-law Virlee Mullenger, of Hamlin, IA and Judi Mullenger of Herndon, VA; several nieces, nephews and extended family. His ashes are resting at Crestlawn Memorial Park in Ocean Springs, MS. The Ocean Springs Chapel of Bradford O'Keefe Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
