Jacquelyn Mae Smith McIntosh, age 79, of Ocean Springs, MS, died Tuesday, April 23, 2013. Jacquelyn was born on March 10, 1934, in Mt. Clemens, MI and was a retired X-Ray Technologist. She was a member of Christus Victor Lutheran Church in Ocean Springs and during the time of Katrina was very active in the cleanup operation. She also made teddy bears out of old denim jeans for 30 Ocean Springs Police cars who gave them out to children of distress calls. While living at the Villa Maria, Jackie would bake and cook, then share with her friends as they gathered under the tree in the yard. She made a great Grapefruit Pie, Pineapple Upside Down Cake and various candies. She loved to knit and sew, made slippers for her friends at the Villa and a patchwork quilt for the Villa Maria Patio Fund Raffle. She was a very generous lady and will be greatly missed. Jacquelyn was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Willard Lee McIntosh, brother, Ralph Smith and sisters, Irene Mills and Carolyn Ainsworth. Survivors include a daughter, Candace (Kent) Muschinske, son, Douglas McIntosh, brother, Charles (Mary) Smith, sisters, Mary Zurawski and Roxanne (Don) Corneillie, six grandchildren, Jack Muschinske, Sarah (Ben) Casper, Allison Muschinske, Kyle McIntosh, Jenni (Eric) Lind and Krista (Hector) Covarrubias, one great-grandson, Fabian Marcos Covarrubias and many nieces, nephews and friends. On Saturday, April 27, there will be a 2 PM Memorial Service at the Villa Maria Retirement Apartments in Ocean Springs. In lieu of flowers Jackie requested memorials be sent to ALS Foundation/Research. The Ocean Springs Chapel of Bradford O'Keefe Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
