James "Burnie" Lester Burnett

James Lester “Burnie” Burnett, 62, of Gautier, MS died Monday, August 18, 2014 in Gautier. Mr. Burnett resided in Mississippi since 1966 and was a resident of Gautier for 34 years. He was a volunteer with Cruisin the Coast for 10 years and a member of Mississippi Gulf Coast Mustang Club and the Mississippi Beach Cruisers. He was also a supporter of car restoration hobby. He served his country in the US Navy for 6 years. He is preceded in death by his mother, Zetta Armentrout. His survivors include his wife, Lisa Hall Burnett; his sons, Jason (Sabrina) Burnett and Wesley (Stacy) Burnett; his father and stepmother, John and Maybelle Burnett; his grandchildren, Zoe, Logan and Amelia; his brother, Charles (Brenda) Burnett; 5 nieces and nephews and 4 great-nieces who were all dear to his heart. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the American Heart Association, Greater Southeast Affiliate, P.O. Box 840692 Dallas, TX 75284-0692. A graveside service will be held at the Biloxi National Cemetery on Thursday, August 21, 2014 at 11:00 am. Burnie/Jim requested that his friends drive their classic cars to his service. The Ocean Springs Chapel of Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
