James "Jamie" Nolan Hough

Mr. James “Jamie” Nolan Hough, of Nederland, Texas, passed away suddenly on Tuesday, May 26, 2015, the morning of his 46th birthday. Jamie was born in Biloxi, Mississippi. He lived in Gretna, Louisiana until his family moved to Nederland, Texas as a young boy. He was a 1987 graduate of Nederland High School where he played football for the Nederland Bulldogs. He was employed with Central Dispatch, Inc. Growing up, he spent many summers in Mississippi with his Nanny and Uncle Tony enjoying camping trips at Ship Island and Paul B. Johnson, fishing in local kid rodeos, softshelling and hanging out with his many cousins. After graduating from high school, Jamie continued to visit his family on the Mississippi Gulf Coast and he made many lifelong friends that he kept in contact with over the years. An avid hunter, Jamie made many trips with his twin brother to Junction, Texas. Always a jokester like his father, he had a great sense of humor and infectious laugh. Jamie was very outgoing and never met a stranger. He enjoyed going to the Biloxi Small Craft Harbor to talk with the captains and see which charter boats caught the most fish or best type of the day. He also loved listening to music and his zest for life was apparent to all who knew him. Jamie’s greatest love was for his nine year old son, Carson, who brought so much joy to his life. He was a wonderful father to Carson, and never complained or applauded the many sacrifices he made. Their father-son relationship, although brief, was filled with memorable good times with friends and family. Jamie made sure his son was introduced to the same legacies that he enjoyed as a child spent in Mississippi. Jamie was a member of St. Charles Catholic Church where he attended regularly with his son. Jamie was preceded in death by his father, John Emile Hough; his sister, Kelli Hough; his maternal grandparents, Capt. Ralph Baker and Margaret Fitzgerald; his paternal grandparents, George Hough and Mildred Roberts; his uncles, Tony Martino and Edval Hughes; his aunts, Theresa Knight and Betty Ann Hughes. Jamie is survived by his son, Carson Hough; his mother, Beverly Hough; his best friend and twin brother, George Hough; his brother, John Hough, Jr.; his sister-in-law, Annette Hough; his aunts, Godmother, Tootsie Martino, Brenda Viator, Jane Hughes and Betty Jean Hughes; his uncle, Kenneth Hughes; and many cousins. Jamie touched the lives of many people with his smile and tender heart and will forever be missed. We love you Jamie and will see you again. Family and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Biloxi on Thursday, June 4, 2015 at 11:00 am. Interment will follow at D’Iberville Memorial Park. “Death leaves a heartache no one can heal, love leaves a memory no one can steal.”- From a headstone in Ireland. The Howard Avenue Chapel of Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
