James Ronald “Ron” Sperance, Jr., 65, of Germantown died Sunday, April 7, 2013 at Methodist University Hospital of Memphis. He was born in Pittsburgh, PA on January 19, 1948 to the late James Ronald and Nona Stevens Sperance. Ron was a lifetime Pittsburgh Pirates fan and a graduate of University of Southern Miss and a proud supporter of the Golden Eagles. He was retired HR Manager for Nationwide Insurance and a member of Germantown United Methodist Church. He enjoyed playing golf, gardening and playing baseball and nature walks with his granddaughter. He was a proud veteran of the United States Marines, a loving husband, father and grand-pa. He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Connie Bentz Sperance of Germantown; two sons, James Ronald Sperance III (Whitney) of Nashville and Cameron J. Sperance of Boston, MA ; a sister, Renee Dustin (Charles) of Hayes, VA; a brother, William Sperance (Sharon) of Pass Christian, MS; and two grandchildren, Lily Grace and Charlie Bennett Sperance.
The funeral service will be Thursday, April 11, at 2pm at First Baptist Church of DeLisle, MS with visitation beginning at 12pm. Burial will follow in the Old DeLisle Cemetery. Memorials can be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
