James “Vernon” Lynam Sr. 95, a long-time Biloxi/D’Iberville resident, passed away May 4th 2017, in Mesa, AZ, surrounded by his loved ones.
Vernon was a Navy World War II Veteran and finished his 20 years of military service in the Air Force. Following his military service, he spent 10 years as a Mail Carrier in Ocean Springs, MS. He was a proud member of the Sons of the American Revolution, Gulf Coast Chapter. He was an avid genealogist and he never lost his love for raising cattle.
Vernon is preceded in death by his wife, of 65 ½ years, Frances Fay Box, his son James “Jimmy” Vernon Lynam, Jr., his parents Thomas “Jesse” and Estella “Adalee” Lynam, a sister and two brothers.
He is survived by his daughter Phyllis L. and husband James B. Greenlee of Mesa, AZ, daughter-in-law Margie Lynam of Biloxi, MS; sister Eula Lee of Pass Christian, MS. three granddaughters Jodie M. Greenlee of Mesa, AZ. and Jill F. Sclease husband George Robert of Mesa, AZ. and Kelly F. Lynam of Seattle, WA; 5 great grandchildren, James, Jenna, Emmalee, Joshua and Bradley. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
Funeral services will be held at White Plains United Methodist Church, 18013 White Plains Rd., Saucier, MS. 39574 on Friday, May 12, 2017 at 3:30 pm. The Howard Avenue Chapel of Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
