Jean Fayard Manuel of Biloxi was born April 12, 1935, in Waveland, MS and joined her heavenly family Friday, May 10, 2013.
In earlier years Jean was instrumental in assisting her husband to organize the Biloxi firefighters Union and served as President of the Ladies Auxiliary for the Biloxi Fire Department. She also took great pride in serving on the School Board of Sacred Heart Girl's High School where she attended and Mercy Cross High School. She was retired from Avon Cosmetics where she was a district manager.
Her children have many fond memories of their parent's love of music and dance. It is often said that they would wake up to the sound of music and their parents would be dancing in the living room. She had many accolades throughout her life, but the greatest accomplishment was being a loving and devoted wife, daughter, sister, mother and grandmother. She taught her family the greatest gift Jesus left "The miracle of love". On this Mother's Day she went to join her son in heaven and we know he is playing her the best mother's day tunes possible. Happy Mother's Day Mom.
Jean was preceded in death by her son, Daniel "Danny" Manuel; parents, Daniel Fayard, Jr. and Alice Page Fayard; brothers, Daniel R. Fayard, III and Roy Fayard; and sister, Veronica "Ronnie" Rushing.
She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Wilbur J. Manuel, Sr; three sons, Michael (Debi), Wilbur, Jr., and Ronald Manuel; two daughters, Donna (Curtis) Harrison and Cora (David) Sewell; daughter-in-law, Kathleen "Kati"Manuel; brother, Robert "R L" Fayard; and a grandson who she raised from the age of 3 after his mother's death, Wilbur "Ike" Manuel, III.
