Jeannie Ruth Downin

Jeannie Ruth Downin, 78, of Vancleave, died Saturday, March 30, 2013 in Ocean Springs. Mrs. Downin was a resident of Vancleave since 1980. She was a housewife and mother and of the Baptist faith. She is preceded in death by her husband, Russell Gerald “Russ” Downin; her daughter, Daphne Darlene Noble; her son, Dwight Douglas Downin; her sister, Helen Freeman; and her brothers, James E. Pack, Jr. and Carlos Pack. Survivors include her daughter, Debra Diane Herbert; her son, Daryl David Downin; her step-children, Isabel Watours, Lisa Whittanburger and Fayette Downin; her sister, Dorothy Smith; nineteen grandchildren; and fourteen great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held at the Howard Avenue Chapel of Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home on Tuesday, April 2, 2013 from 6:00p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Funeral Services will be held at the Howard Avenue Chapel of Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home on Wednesday, April 3, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. Interment will follow at Crestlawn Memorial Park.
