Jessie Laten Pigg

Eighty year old, long-time resident of Latimer, Jessie Laten Pigg went home to meet the Lord, Thursday morning, April 23, 2015. Surrounded by family and friends, he passed peacefully in his sleep at his daughter’s residence in Ponchatoula, Louisiana. He was preceded in death by his father, Corbet Pigg , his mother, Christine Boutwell Wooten, brother, Herman Wooten, and twin brother James Pigg. Reverend Jessie L. Pigg leaves behind his wife of fifty-five years, Mrs. Eula Whitehead Pigg; daughter, Bridgette Morse and her husband Reverend Lucius Morse, son, Todd Pigg and his wife Keri Pigg, grandchildren, Kristopher Pigg, Anna Evans and her husband Dylan Evans, Nicole Morse; and great - grandchild, Parker Evans. He was born and raised in Yazoo City, Mississippi. After serving in the U.S. Air Force he became a homebuilder, a trade that he loved, and which he remained in, building homes for as long as he was able. He was also a Pentecostal pastor in Latimer and other places across the coast for almost 45 years. Through his ministry, he touched many lives. While we’re all saddened by his loss, we take comfort in the knowledge that he had prepared in this life for the next. He’s waiting for us now, building the grandest mansions to pass the time, until we can join him on the other side. Visitation will be held at the Biloxi Chapel of Bradford-OKeefe Funeral Home on Monday, April 27, 2015 from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm. The funeral service will begin at 7:00 pm and a graveside service will be at 11:00 am, Tuesday, April 28, 2015 at the Cruthirds Road Memorial Garden Cemetery in Latimer, MS.
