Mrs. Jewel Pittman Bacigalupi,93, of Perkinston, died Wednesday, August 14, 2013 in Gulfport. Mr. Bacigalupi was born February 18, 1920 in Lake Como, MS and graduated from Bay Springs High School. She attended Mississippi Southern College in Hattiesburg and Jackson Commercial College in Jackson where she received a degree in accounting. She served as Business Manager for Volkswagon of America in California for thirty years. She was Past Matron of Ariel Chapter #42 of Antioch, CA; past Matron of Fellowship Chapter #388 of Biloxi; and a 50 year member of the Eastern Star. She was also a member of the White Shrine, the Sierra Club, and Poplar Head United Methodist Church in Saucier.
Mrs. Bacigalupi was preceded in death by her husband, Myron Bacigalupi; son, John W. Jones; parents, Mr. and Mrs. John T. Pittman; two sisters, Ruth Roberts and Joy Barnett; and a brother, John R. Pittman.
She is survived by two daughters, Diane (Wayne) Mims of Bay Springs; Celeste (Howard) Ladnier of Perkinston; a brother, Jack Pittman of Birmingham, AL; daughter-in-law, Debbie Jones of Placerville, CA; four grandchildren, Belinda Mims of Phoenix, AZ, Robin (Roger) German of Sonoma, CA, Todd (Michelle) Jones of Clovis, CA, and Emily Ladnier of Perkinston; five great-grandchildren, Alexandria, Jessica, and John German of Sonoma, CA, and Brody and Cooper Jones of Clovis, CA.
A celebration of life for Jewell Bacigalupi who lived a wonderful life of 93 years will be held Saturday, August 17, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at Poplar Head United Methodist Church on Poplarhead Road in Saucier where friends may visit beginning at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Poplar Head Cemetery.
