Jo Ellen Rogers Irwin

Jo Ellen Rogers Irwin, 73, of Vancleave, MS died Saturday, February 7, 2015 in Pascagoula, MS. Jo Ellen was a native of Jackson County, MS. She retired from Ingalls Shipbuilding and was a member of First Baptist Church Vancleave where she was very involved in church activities. Jo Ellen worked for many years at Vancleave Video and she also served in other places in the community. Everyone who knew Jo Ellen knew that she had a heart of gold and would always be there for anyone who needed help. Jo Ellen loved God and she loved to serve Him by teaching others about Him. She did serve as a Sunday school teacher in her younger years and she served in the WMU at First Baptist Church Vancleave. Jo Ellen is preceded in death by her parents, Josephine and A.E. Rogers; her brother, Norman Rogers; and her sister, Helen Rogers. Her survivors include her children, Matt (Robin) Irwin and Sue Ellen (James) Herrington; her brothers, Bobby (Johnnie) Rogers and Leroy (Mary) Rogers; her sister-in-law, Joan Rogers; her grandchildren, Jollen, James, Brittany, Samantha, Dakota, Dillon, Pepper, Michelle, Nikki, Jessie, David and Amanda; her 14 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held at the Ocean Springs Chapel of Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home on Thursday, February 12, 2015 from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm. Funeral services will be held at First Baptist Church Vancleave on Friday, February 13, 2015 at 11:00 am. Friends may visit from 10:00 am until service time. Interment will follow at Vancleave #2 Cemetery.
