Joan Rosalind Penny

Mrs. Joan Rosalind Penny, age 81, a former resident of East Beach in Ocean Springs, MS, departed from this earth on Friday, March 3, 2017, to be with the Lord after battling Alzheimer’s Disease. Mrs. Penny and her husband, Donald A. Penny, Sr., moved to the MS Gulf Coast from Pennsylvania in 1966, where she became a realtor/broker and home builder running her own business, Sand Dollar Realty and Sand Dollar Homes. She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Donald A. Penny, Sr.; her parents, Richard and Madeline Miller; and her brother, Wayne Miller. Survivors include her daughter, Doris Lynn Penny (Hugo) Reverse and Donald A. (Sherri) Penny, Jr.; and her five grandchildren, Devin Leatherwood, Andrea Fust, Cameron Penny, Josh Penny and Lauren Penny; and her three step-grandchildren, Nikki, Bella and Ryan Reverse. The family would like to thank the faculty and staff of Brookdale Assisted Senior Living for their loving support and care. The family will be holding a private graveside ceremony. The Ocean Springs Chapel of Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
