Joanne Polk Cochrane, 78, of Vancleave, MS, died Thursday, September 4, 2014 in Biloxi, MS.
Joanne was born in Bogalusa, LA on August 24th, 1936, moving to Biloxi, MS when she was of a young age.
Joanne was employed by AAFES at Keesler Air Force Base, MS and Tehran, Iran, and retired from Citigroup in Tampa, FL.
She was a member of The American Legion Post 1992 Ladies Axillary in Vancleave-Gautier, where she held the office of Sargent of Arms for 2 years. She was very active in the Legion Fundraisers and activities and she loved to dance. She was also a Charter Member of AMBUCS.
She was loved by family and friends as well as coworkers. She will be missed by all who came in contact with her.
Joanne is preceded in death by her parents, Hezzie and Effie Polk; her husband, Larry Cochrane; son, Joey Martino; brothers, Clyde Polk, Curtis Polk, Cassie Polk and LW Creel; and sisters, Eva Nobles and Catherine Polk.
Joanne is survived by her daughters, Cathy (Bobby) Cole of Biloxi, MS, Beth (Chris) Kraack of Bartow, FL and Kim (Roland) Moran of Saucier, MS; sister, Louise (Irvin) Fayard of Biloxi, MS; grandsons, Robby (Jennifer) Cole, Joe Martino, Roland Moran; granddaughters, Robin (Joey) Bosarge and Mindy Martino; 8 great grandchildren; and companion, Jerry Walters of Ocean Springs, MS.
Joanne's services will be held at Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home in Ocean Springs, MS on Tuesday, September 9th, 2014 with visitation from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Funeral services will follow at 11:00 a.m. Interment at Biloxi National Cemetery will be at 12:30 p.m.
