John Louis Ouille, Sr., 87 devoted husband, father, brother, uncle, and friend was born Friday, January 13, 1930 in Biloxi, MS and passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Friday, October 20, 2017.
John was a lifelong resident of Biloxi, MS. John was a graduate of Notre Dame High School and attended Spring Hill College in Mobile, AL. John was a Catholic and member of the Nativity B.V.M. Parish. His parents, Edward J. Ouille, Sr & Nettie Wilson Ouille, his wife Shirley Jacquet Ouille, his siblings Edward J. Ouille, Jr, Mary Ballard, H. J. Ouille, Margaret Ouille, and Francis Heite preceded him in death.
John was a veteran of the U.S. Army. John served in Europe during the Korean Conflict; and, was especially proud of his service as a member of the 631st Artillery Service Battalion, and his audience with Pope Pious XII.
His children Susan Holden (Bob), Madisonville, LA, John (Dotti) Ouille, Jr., Gulfport, MS, and Georgia (Bill) Bryant, Biloxi, MS, his sister-in-law Patricia Jacquet, and many beloved nieces and nephews survive John.
Although retired at the time of his death, John’s was former employment included the Beau Rivage Casino Resort, the Biloxi Housing Authority, Howard Memorial Hospital, and Eddie’s Drug Store.
The family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Reza Motakhaveri, Dr. Eva Magiros and Associates, the Merit Hospital CHF Clinic, and the nursing staff and assistants of Merit Hospital for their compassionate care.
In lieu of flowers, the family request donations to the American Heart Association, St. Vincent de Paul, or Nativity BVM Parish.
Services will be held at the Nativity BVM Cathedral in Biloxi, MS on Friday, October 27, 2017 at 3:00 pm. Visitation is from 1:00 pm to 3:00pm, and interment will follow at Biloxi City Cemetery.
