John Patrick “Pat” Peresich, Sr., 83 of Biloxi, died May 26, 2016, after a lengthy illness.
After graduating from Spring Hill College, he served honorably in the U.S. Army, married and started his own business. Pat was a model train enthusiast since childhood, and fulfilled his lifelong passion by operating The Emporium Toy Train Store, after years in the service station business. He was a charter member of the Biloxi Main Street District. He loved the camaraderie of Thursday night suppers at the Slavonian Lodge, traveling to trade shows, and Saturday evening meals with family after mass. Always interested in the latest technology, Pat sat in wonder the first time he heard Patsy Cline sing on CD, playing it over and over again. He spent hours and hours on end listening to the music he loved. Pat’s warm conversation made everyone feel welcome and relaxed, and his charm brought a smile to all who met him. He spent many an hour swapping stories over a cup of coffee with his train buddies.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of forty-one years, Margaret Tremmel Peresich; his son, Thomas Kevin Peresich; and his parents, Eugene A. Peresich, Sr. and Althea H. Peresich. Of nine siblings, Pat is survived only by his sister, Martha P. Nungesser. The family always said that “she was the youngest, but he was the baby”. He leaves behind his son, Pat (Susie) Peresich, Jr.; his daughter, Margaret Ann (Mark) Cowley; his grandson, Michael A. Peresich; and his poodle, Mousse.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to Society of St. Vincent de Paul, Diocesan Council of Biloxi, P.O. Box 4098, Biloxi, MS 39531.
