John Edward Rairigh

John Edward Rairigh was born September 4, 1917 in Allegeny County, Pennsylvania. He passed on to his eternal life on November 21, 2012 with his family by his side. John was a loving husband, father and grandfather who enjoyed family gatherings, traveling, camping, and just enjoying life and all it had to offer. John was an Air and Sea Rescue pilot in the 4th Emergency Rescue Squadron during WWII, receiving the Navy Cross, the Distinguished Service Cross and the Distinguished Flying Cross. Later, he spent a great career at both Keesler and Tyndall Air bases as an Educational Specialist in Civil Service. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Ada Rairigh; his brothers, Joseph and Robert and his sister, Mary Elliott. He is survived by his wife, Louise Rairigh; his daughter, Barbara Anderson (Andy); his two grandsons, Duncan Scott Anderson (Theresa) and Jeffrey Todd Anderson (Phillip White); his great-grandchildren, James Anderson, Andria Dotson, and Zachary Dotson and his great-great-grandchildren, Scarlett Marie Anderson and Lily Dotson. We would like to say a special thanks to all of the nurses, doctors and staff at Ocean Springs Hospital, plus the loving care of Hospice of Light for their support and care. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that offerings be made to the Hospice of Light in Gautier, MS. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, November 24, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at Crestlawn Memorial Park in Ocean Springs.
