Jonnie Lou Hurst Autrey

Jonnie Hurst Autrey, age 87, passed away on March 7, 2015. Jonnie was born in Covington County, Mississippi, on December 2, 1927. After graduating high school from Houma, Louisiana, she attended the University of Southern Mississippi where she received two master’s degrees and a specialist’s degree in the field of education. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Paul Autrey, Sr.; her son, Mark Hurst Autrey; and her parents, Fred and Thelma Hurst. Jonnie leaves behind her son, Ralph Paul Autrey, Jr; her son, Stephen Wayne Autrey, and his wife Sally; her daughter Ann Michelle Autrey Jones and her husband John “Kevin” Jones; three grandchildren Tyler Moore Kostal (Ryan); Anthony Paul Wisdom Autrey; Megan Elizabeth Jones; and a great-granddaughter, Elinor Autrey Kostal. In celebration of her life, a visitation will be held at Bradford O’Keefe Funeral Home on Porter Avenue in Ocean Springs. A memorial graveside service will be held at Oaklawn Cemetery in Hattiesburg, Mississippi. Both services will be held at a later date. May the queen of our family rest in peace.
