Knovis "Jerry" Jones

No farewell words were spoken, no time to say goodbye, you were gone before we knew it, and only God knows why. Those we love don’t go away, they walk beside us every day, unseen, unheard, but always near, still loved, still missed and very dear. Knovis “Jerry” Jones passed away on June 27, 2013 at Thibodeaux Regional Medical Center in Thibodeaux, LA. Jerry was born on July 19, 1948 in Kosciusko, Mississippi to the late William C. Jones and Evelyn Delores Jones. He is survived by his wife Barbara M. Jones; his daughters, April J. Dick (George), Gina J. Dodge (Chris), Alice Jones; step-children, Johnny Moore, Julie Rombeck, Sunshine Huntington; brothers, Joseph, and Steve; sister, Cindy; and ten grandchildren. Jerry worked for the family business, Southern Regional Van Lines, until starting his own business, Southland Moving Co. After retiring in 2002, he enjoyed his hobbies of collecting old movies, records and watches, most recently learning to master computers. He will continue to be remembered as a strong man that was loyal to the friends and family he loved. His daughters, April and Gina, will forever be grateful to him for taking the responsibility of raising two young girls as a single father in the 70’s and for always being there to talk when needed. The funeral service will be Monday, July 1, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at Family Worship Center, 2800 7th Ave., Gulfport, MS where friends may visit from 10:00 a.m. until service time. Interment will follow at Floral Hills Memorial Gardens in Gulfport. Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home, 15th St, Gulfport, is in charge.
