Laurene M. Miles, beloved mother, grandmother and friend sadly passed away August 12th 2016.
Born September 18th 1939 in Grand Forks, North Dakota, Laurene migrated to Mississippi in 1964 after a tour in Germany with her husband. She moved to Ocean Springs in 1975 where she remained a longtime resident. She was an active member in the Girl Scouts for many years and the Jackson County chapter of Homemakers and the Garden Club as well as a passionate volunteer at the Gulf Coast Model Railroad Museum in Gulfport and a member of St. Elizabeth Seton Church. Laurene lived a full and vibrant life filled with creativity and love.
She is survived by her husband of 57 years, William “Pat” Miles; her daughters, Cathy (Wesley) Smith, Patsy (Thomas) Edie and Wanda (Spencer) Smith; her grandchildren, Chasity (Nick) Castonguay, Thomas Edie, Jr., Theresa (Donald) Baldwin, Samantha (Grey) Slay, Miles Smith and Paige (Dusty) Foskey; her great-grandchildren, Calen Thomas and Callie Castonguay, Andrew and Madelyn Slay, Elizabeth and Donald Baldwin, Jr. and Eva Edie; and her many, many loving and caring friends.
Funeral Services will be held at the Ocean Springs Chapel of Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home on Wednesday, August 17, 2016 at 5pm. Family and friends may visit one hour prior. Interment will be held at a later date at Biloxi National Cemetery.
