Leighton Raymond "Woody" Elliott, age 94, passed away Saturday, June 27 2015, in Ocean Springs, MS. He was born in River Falls, Wisconsin and had been a longtime resident of the MS Gulf Coast. He was a retired U. S. Air Force Veteran with 20 years of service of WW II and the Korean Conflict as Senior Master Sergeant. He then began his second career with the U. S. Postal Service where he was a letter carrier for fifteen years. He was a longtime member of the St. Vincent de Paul Society, Sacred Heart Catholic Church and also of the Shriners.
Leighton was preceded in death by his loving wife of 48 years, Dorthy DeSilvey Elliott, and his second wife of 15 years, Mary Rearig Motsing Elliott. He is survived by his son, Don Elliott, of D'Iberville; granddaughter, Lisa Elliott of Frisco, Texas; grandson, Kevin Elliott, of Mobile, AL; and great grandsons, Eric Delgado and Ethan and Michael Elliott.
Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Thursday, July 2, 2015, at Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Home, 675 Howard Ave., in Biloxi where friends may visit one hour before service time. Interment will follow in Biloxi City Cemetery with military honors.
