Leo Morris Noble, age 86, died peacefully Sunday at his home surrounded by his family.
Leo was born September 14, 1926. He was a lifelong resident of Ocean Springs, Mississippi. Leo joined the U.S. Navy during World War II, served as Seaman 1st Class in the Pacific on the destroyer, USS Wadleigh, for 9 months. After serving 2 years in the service, he was honorably discharged. He was employed by E.R. Moore Company in Ocean Springs (later known as Swingster) for 35 years. He was also a member of St. Alphonsus Catholic Church.
Leo was an avid fisherman and enjoyed taking his family for outings to the islands.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Morris and Jane Noble; three sisters: Eunice, Naomi and Ona Lee; one brother, Chester; sister-in-law Evelyn and one son, Thomas Noble.
Survivors include his devoted wife of 64 years, Betty, one sister, Beryl Bond, 5 sons, Daniel, David (Sharon), Thomas (Sheryl), Timothy (Gwendolyn), Joseph (Laura), Chad (Tiffany), a daughter, Jane Maria Sema (Robert), 20 grandchildren, 35 great- grandchildren, three great-great- grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be on Wednesday, April 24, 2013, from 9:30 am until 11 am, with an 11 am Mass of Christian Burial, all at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers the family requests Mass offerings or donations to St. Vincent de Paul Society of St. Alphonsus.
The Ocean Springs Chapel of Bradford O'Keefe Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
