Leon L. Rhoden, 85, of Biloxi, MS entered into the Kingdom of Heaven on July 2, 2015 in his Biloxi home with loved ones by his side. He was born in Pisgah, AL on April 12, 1930 to parents, John B. Roden and Gertrude Roden. He served honorably in the USAF, MS ANG and retired from Civil Service KAFB. He was a past member of MS City Methodist Church for 53 years, was a current member of Bible Baptist Church and was a Mason. He was a 69 year resident of the MS Gulf Coast.
He was preceded in death by parents, John B. and Gertrude Roden; 6 siblings, Charles David Rhoden, Inez Young, Glenda Evans, John Harold Rhoden, Christine Robertson and Max Roden.
He will be missed by his wife of 66 years, Mildred C. Rhoden; sons, Danny Rhoden (Pam) and Richard Rhoden (Vicki); daughter, Shelley Rhoden; niece, Linda Conley; 8 grandchildren, David Rhoden, Stevie Erickson, Jennifer Cleveland (John), Angela Rhoden, Jocelyn Rhoden, Julie Rhoden, Molly Hines and Ben Hines (Molly); 8 great-grandchildren; and all who knew him.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in his memory to the Salvation Army or Hospice Compassus.
Visitation will be on Saturday, July 11, 2015 at Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home, 15th St. Gulfport, MS from 1-2 pm followed by a memorial service.
