Lewis Thames Grissom, age 90, of Gulfport died Thursday, July 17, 2014 in Biloxi.
He was born in Stringer. He retired as a Sergeant in the U.S. Army. He loved reading the newspaper and keeping up with current events. He was a resident of the armed Forces Retirement Home in Gulfport.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Mae Grissom; a sister, Troy Lee Ishee (Prentiss); and a brother, James Grissom (Nell)
Mr. Grissom is survived by nieces, Jane Grissom and Diane DeAngelo (Ken); nephews, Doug Grissom (Barbara), Gerald Ishee (Margaret), Jimmy Ishee (Darlene); numerous
great- nieces and nephews; many cousins including, Patricia McDaniel (Tommy), Sadie Kemp,
Robert Lewis Brown (Nancy), and James Earl Brown.
There will be a graveside service on Saturday, July 19, 2014 at 11:30 am at Providence Cemetery in Stringer, MS.
The family prefers memorial donations to Providence Primitive Baptist Church or Providence Cemetery Fund.
