Linda Jean Parrish Carter, 59, of Ocean Springs died Monday, June 23, 2014 in Ocean Springs.
Linda earned her Bachelor of Science degree from USM while working 23 years at Ingalls Shipbuilding, of which she was very proud. She ran the Ocean Springs Kustom Cycle Shop in the seventies, built her own Harley from a basket of parts, and made the best gumbo on earth.
Linda loved and was loved by many. She was friend and teacher, counselor and companion. She was generous and understanding, unpretentious and honest. She welcomed all and accepted all as they were. No one ever left hungry or unheard. She loved fishing, family and friendship.
Linda is preceded in death by her father, Edison Emery Parrish, Sr. and mother, Margaret Skrmetta Parrish.
Linda is survived by her life partner, Scott Thompson; her son, Christopher E. Carter, and his wife, Jennifer; her grandsons, Grayson Carter and Bryant Michael Carter; her former husband, Buster Carter; her sisters, Dorothy Siebel and Sherry Clifford; and her brother, Edison Parrish, Jr.
Funeral Services will be held at the Ocean Springs Chapel of Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home on Friday, June 27, 2014 at 11:00 am. Friends may visit from 10:00 am until service time. Interment will follow at Biloxi City Cemetery.
