Lois Edna Clark Melhuish, age 81, of Gulfport died Sunday, May 27, 2012 in Gulfport. She was born in Kingsport, Tenn., reared in Whitney, S. Car., and later moved to Gulfport in 1954 where she started her family. She was an avid golfer and was a member of the Keesler Ladies Golf Association. She also loved flowers, reading and crocheting. Lois was a member of Handsboro Baptist Church. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother and will be missed by all who knew her.
Mrs. Melhuish was preceded in death by her son, Jeffery Melhuish; her parents, Charlie S. Clark and Elizabeth Johnson Clark; and a sister, Ruby Tipton.
She is survived by her husband, John Melhuish III; a daughter, Libby (Steven) Pitre; two sons, John Melhuish, IV, and David (Karla) Melhuish, all of Gulfport; seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
The funeral service will be held Thursday, May 31, 2012 at 12:00 noon at Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home, 15th Street, Gulfport where friends may visit beginning at 11:00 a.m. until the service. Interment will follow at Biloxi National Cemetery.
