Lorene D. Burnette

Lorene D. Burnette, 59, of Ocean Springs, MS died Wednesday, January 29, 2014 in Ocean Springs. Mrs. Burnette was born in Key West, FL. She was a resident of Ocean Springs for the past 23 years, raising a family and traveling as a Navy wife with her husband. Mrs. Burnette was a very devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend to many. Mrs. Burnette is preceded in death by her mother, Gloria Jenkins. Her survivors include her husband, Steven Burnette of Ocean Springs; her father, Abel Jenkins of Goose Creek, SC; her sons, Thomas Burnette of Jacksonville, FL, Geoffrey Burnette of Frazier, CO and Christopher Burnette of Ocean Springs, MS; her grandson, Nathan Burnette of Ocean Springs; and her sister, Christina Samuelsen (Randall)of Goose Creek, SC. In lieu of flowers the family prefers donations be made in Mrs. Burnette’s name to the Breast Cancer Society, Inc., 6859 East Rembrandt. Ave., Suite 128 Mesa, AZ 85212. A visitation will be held at the Ocean Springs Chapel of Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home on Monday, February 3, 2014 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Interment will be at Carolina Memorial Gardens in North Charleston, SC.
