Lyle Eugene "Skip" Frisbie

Lyle Eugene “Skip” Frisbie died Tuesday, January 2, 2018 at his home in Ocean Springs. He was 84 years old. Known as “Skip” to his family and many friends, he was born in Carbondale, PA to the late Lyle Ulysses Frisbie and Bertha Elizabeth Snedeker Frisbie and was the eldest of seven siblings: Charles (d), Ellen Buckingham (d), Ruth Masker, Joyce Shaffer, David (d) and Robert. Skip grew up working on the farm and was very fond of telling stories of his experiences. In 1953, he was drafted into the United States Army before transferring to the United States Air Force where he retired after serving over 20 years. Prior to his departure from the Air Force, Skip started what would become his passion – The Home Maintenance Company. A “work-a-holic” in the truest sense, Skip absolutely loved all aspects of repairing and refurbishing houses. He especially enjoyed knowing his work helped people by improving their homes. His greatest sadness came when he had to retire his business due to age and no longer being able to perform at a level he was accustomed. However, in his retirement he found joy in watching sports and becoming an avid fan of the Atlanta Braves and the New Orleans Saints. He also enjoyed spending time with friends and family and sitting in his garage “counting cars." Lastly, throughout his life he always sought, but never wanted recognition for, helping people or organizations in need. Whether helping with coaching a sport, helping with Cub and Boy Scouts, or helping a person down on their luck, he always did this never asking for anything in return. For this, his generosity will be greatly missed by the many lives he touched. He was happily married to his first wife, Ingrid “Edie” Frisbie, for over 50 years until her death in 2011. In 2013, Skip married his high school sweetheart, Arlene Lee, where they both greatly enjoyed each other’s company until his death. He is survived by his son, Troy E. Frisbie; his wife, Cecilia; and grandson, Austin E. Frisbie. Services for Mr. Frisbie will be held Monday, January 8, 2018 with visitation from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the Ocean Springs Chapel of Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Home. Graveside service will be Tuesday, January 9, 2018 at 12:30 p.m. at Biloxi National Cemetery, with full military honors.
