Maggie Vee Mallette

Maggie Vee Mallette, 83, of Vancleave, MS passed away on Tuesday, January 8, 2013. Maggie Vee was born on April 9th, 1929 to Johnnie and Mamie Fairley in Vancleave. She lived out her life in the Vancleave area spending the last 55 years in the Fort Bayou Community. Maggie Vee loved the outdoors and being able to enjoy a great sunny day. While she didn’t like to travel, she was always up on current events and knew what was going on in the world. She was always looking out for the neighbors and family in the community. She had a great sense of humor and loved to laugh at the everyday things in life. She never missed a phone call especially if it was Pug calling! Maggie Vee was always a pillar of strength to her children and taught us to appreciate hard work. She lived a much uncomplicated life in a very complicated time. She loved listening to gospel music and reading her Bible. She liked things simple and tried to live her life that way as much as possible. Maggie Vee enjoyed visits from many family members and friends and looked especially forward to Edith stopping by. On July 3rd, 1947, Maggie Vee married Saint Elmo Mallette, Sr. They were married for 42 years when he passed away on February 16, 1989. She is also preceded in death by her sisters, Sabra, Alta Mae and Trudy and her brother, Hinton. She is survived by four children and their spouses, Theone and Jerry Moss, St. Elmo Mallette, Jr. (Sonny) and Betty Mallette, Connie and Donna Mallette and Johnnie and Tony Miller all of Vancleave; one brother, Donice Fairley and a sister-in-law, Sis Davis all of Vancleave; grandchildren, Robby Moss, Rachel Moss, Rusty Mallette, Chandra Sommers, Lance Mallette, Kim Lamb, Melissa Mallette, Vicki Mallette, Robert Mallette and Morgan Miller and several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. She also leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 11, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at the Vancleave Chapel of Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home.
